HOW I'M CLEARING UP MY SKIN

Currently listening to ladipoe ft Simi-know you.

I have had a long and bitter experience with acne, and for each phase of my acne journey, I longed for a clear skin, although I'm not there yet, I wanted to share all my experience and how I'm curbing it now.
I normally have breakouts now and again, but I never quite experienced a terrible one as I did when I went for my NYSC (NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE CORPS). Although I can't really say what attributed to the massive breakouts, I observed that when I started using Milk of magnesia (mom), as a primer for my makeup, the pH of my facial skin changed drastically, It started as tiny pimples and then humongous acne, at that time I felt I could cover it up with makeup, but boy was I wrong, I  was doing more harm to my skin. I had to stop MOM as a primer. I was so embarrassed with my skin, I felt insecure, which led to follow any suggestions anyone had to give, I was so desperate that I went to run a blood test and skin test and all that the specialist could offer were suggestions and nothing more, I wanted a sure and fast way out that if someone suggested I perceive goat shit I probably would perceive it.

DISCOVERY;  I Got a suggestion from someone to try ASANTEE, bar soap and it worked for a  period I noticed a clear difference although I still had spots, but I didn't have breakouts again.  Fast forward to 6 months after service, I noticed the same acne appearance, I was devastated. The major difference between now and then was that I found what triggers it, stress is one of it, and also every time I consume oily foods I get at least twin breakouts to show for it, and boy I love eating peanuts. Milk (dairy) is one of my triggers as well.

TREATMENT: I started taking antibiotics together with supplements like zinc and vitamin A. I also tried topical treatments recommended by a doctor friend like clindamycin and Retin-A.
Retin-A has really helped my skin a lot in terms of texture. my skin feels smoother, rosewater and glycerin toner, I use as my toner, peel off mask are done once a week, mostly weekends when I have the time. I also do well to exfoliate twice a week in the evenings. don't forget to moisturize even if you have acne-prone skin.
Although my skin isn't perfect yet, it is not where it used to be cos I am now religious with my skincare and pay attention to the kind of foundation and powder I apply on my skin, yes skincare is not only about the treatments we ought to be careful about each makeup product we apply on the skin as well.
what my skin currently looks like.

If you are like me and you have acne-prone skin, you need to learn to embrace it and look for means on how to nurture it. Don't let acne define you. I know what psychological effect it can have on a person. Rise above it and deal with it.

PS; I'm not a dermatologist, and this may not work for you as everyone's skin is different. find what works for you and stick to it.

Until next time my loves, sending you love and light. stay safe.
